Installing Diablo II

So, I've finally gotten around to installing Diablo II. There's a grand total of 4 disks, 3 for the basic game and one for the expansion. And it isn't going too fast, either. Well, maybe it is. I don't know! XD

I just got back from going to visit my cousin and my grandparents. They live like an hour away, and visiting takes a while, so as you could expect I was out all day.

And now one of my 3 cats is spazzing out under the Christmas tree. She's the cutest thing is existence and her name is Gem, short for Gemma. We just call her Gemmy-gem or Sweety Pie or Cutie Pie or Cutie or Sweety or Cuteness or Spazz... the cat has about 10 different names! XD

Also, my bro is playing Lego Harry Potter on the Xbox (he got both of the games for Christmas) and I just figured out that my dad can't play Diablo with me unless we play across the connections directly between our computers and not over the internet... sucks.

And I started writing yet another story about Valkyries (from the Minecraft Aether mod) as writing practice.

Sorry for not posting for so long ppl... but WHO CARES!? IT'S CHRISTMAS!

So... the loot this year: an RC heli; a $113 dragon pendant made of silver and studded with 22 peridots (my birthstone) and one garnet; a writing book, a bunch of misc candy and chips; a Pokemon Black & White card deck, Green Tornado theme; a giant eraser; one of those pin thingies where you can put your hand against the pins to push them up and make a shape or whatever; 2 Xbox games; a Minecraft creeper necklace; a Minecraft creeper "creepers gonna creep" shirt; a writing desk; and a Diablo II battlechest.

I haven't installed it yet, but that's mainly because I'm writing this and the first thing I did when I got on the computer was catch these dragcave holiday eggs:  They're this year's Christmas dragons, and I really have no idea what they're going to be when they hatch, although I do actually have a slight idea. There was a Christmas dragon concept a few months ago over in the dragon request forum called the Old Spirit dragon. They're based off Santa and basically the adult sprite is a rather chubby dragon with a beard sitting on a sack of presents.

But I'm not saying that's what these dragons are going to be. That's just my guess. But I wouldn't mind a Holly  IOU if I'm right! :D

Also, about a month ago I started to play WoW again on the (free!) ITRWoW server. Not really sure if my capitalization there was all that accurate but I'm too lazy to check if it is or not. Anyway, I now have a lvl 80 Human Warlock named Marlah... or Ambassador Marlah if you count the title. I also have a lvl 18 Night Elf Druid named Arael, a lvl 20 Blood Elf Hunter named Deyna, and a lvl 2 Gnome Rogue named Shortie. Shortie is lvl 2 only because he's my Auction House charrie; I send all my items to him to put in the AH so I don't have to run to the nearest AH every time my inventory is full.

I am now saying this for the purpose of showing off and that purpose only. On Marlah, my main, I have a total of over 50 mounts, probably like 57 or something, and of course that means I have an Albino Drake. I have all the Alliance factional mounts, a Red Drake gained from getting exalted with the Wyrmrest Accord, all the Nether Ray mounts gained from getting exalted with the Sha'tari Skyguard; the two Warlock mounts - the Felsteed and the Dreadsteed, the Armored Brown Bear, All the Brewfest Mounts - Brewfest Ram, Swift Brewfest Ram, and Great Brewfest Kodo, all the Gryphons, including the Armored Snowy Gryphon, a Black War Tiger bought with 50,000 honor points, and, of course, the Albino Drake.

I'm also working on getting the Time Lost Proto-Drake. I'll have it if the stupid mob that drops it ever spawns and if I ever find it.

And to add to my awesomeness, I am the Guild Master of my very own guild; Midnight Fire. If you happen to have a charrie on the ITRWoW server and you're looking for a guild, feel free to message me or Snip when we're on to be added to the guild. I'm aiming to make it a guild where everyone's nice and ppl actually help other ppl instead of ignoring them because they're either n00bs or they're low ranking in the guild.

One thing that bothers me is that with experienced players treating newbies like crap, how are the newbies ever going to get experienced? I suppose they'll get there on their own eventually, but not nearly as fast as they would if anyone took 5 minutes of their time to help them out and explain some things to them.

And the way some people who do like 10,000 damage in a dungeon boss fight treat other lvl 80s who have only been 80 a few days and have not that good gear and are in the dungeon for good gear is just horrific. Because they don't have the wits to face a person in real life face-to-face they pick on the low geared 80s through their computer screens. You wouldn't believe the argument I got into with this swear-happy disrespectful jerk while trying to have fun in a dungeon. He actually drove our healer to leave the group!

And being a Warlock doesn't make anything better for me. Warlocks are a pretty sucky class. Not only can they only wear cloth armor; the worst armor in the game, they hardly do any damage. Thankfully, I was in a dungeon helping out a lvl 71 and he told me to take all my talent points out of Demonology and put them in Affliction instead. He said that if I did that, I would do much more damage than I was before.

And you know what? He was right! When I had put most of my talent points in Affliction and like 15 or so in Demonology to get my Soul Link and Fel Domination spells back again and I was doing twice the damage I was before! I can't remeber your name but thank you helpful Mage whose name starts with an A!

The double in damage makes sense if you think about it. When I had put all my talent points in Demonology, the only edge I was giving myself was the Metamorphosis ability that allowed me to turn into a demon for a short amount of time, Soul Link, which made my demon absorb some of the damage done to me, Master Demonologist, which decreased the damage done to me by 10%, and other random perks that didn't really do much.

And since I mostly rely on my DOT (Damage Over Time) spells, which fall into the Affliction catagory, for damage, it only made sense that by putting all my talent points in Affliction I would do more damage. I got a whole bunch of upgrades to two of the spells that I rely on most for damage and a few more spells to deal damage with. So therefore, I do more damage, and therefore, I can get better gear and wands faster, and therefore, I can do even more damage and take less damage, and therefore, I can get more gear even faster and not suck at Random Battlegrounds!

And speaking of Random Battlegrounds, once when I was in Arathi Basin, I was protecting the Blacksmith (for all the good it would do; two or three hits from a Horde and I would be dead) and another Ally was behind me. Suddenly, about 6 Hordes ran up and I was standing directly in their way. I thought that I would be dead. After all, what normally would have happened was they would have all stormed me and I would have died in 2 seconds. But that's not what happened.

To my surprise, they stopped and hesitantly inched backwards. It took a few seconds to register that they might have been scared of me. When that occurred to me, I ran forwards a few feet on my Stormsaber (I didn't have my Black War Tiger back then; I was still collecting Honor for it) and they went back even more. Thrilled, I pressed the spacebar to make my Stormsaber roar, and then charged them.

And they RAN!

I immediately launched into hysterics. I just couldn't stop laughing, it was so hilarious. 6 Hordes, fully capable of  killing me, were running away! From me! 2-hits-and-I'm-dead ME!

We won that time. :)

Meh, I'm being impatient.

I should really try to be a little more patient and not check the dragon requests subforum of the dragcave forum for my topics to be approved every 10 mins. I have the flat of the unnamed wyvern, now called an Ornamental Wyvern, and I have a fully shaded egg for the Luminescent Brights, and a fixed Luminescent Bright male.

So, I took a dragon drawing that I drew yesterday and scanned it into photoshop elements and colored and shaded it and this was the result! ^^

Nice, huh? The original sketch was to be for the adult of my new dragon concept for dragon cave, which I haven't even named yet. I can't link to it yet because the thread hasn't been approved. I also made another thread with some sprites I grabbed off the abandoned art thread, and that hasn't been approved yet either. The dragon is called Luminescent Bright and is white with a whole bunch of colorful tendril thingymabobs on it. :)

I'm technically supposed to be off the computer for the summer, but I doubt its going to turn out that way. I'm most likely going to be able to do little chores like doing the laundry for a few hours every other day. After all, that's what I'm doing right now.

Ok, so I have to say this somewhere. In the Nerd3 comic that I have been watching for at least a month now, probably two, it has just been revealed that The Root gets into the minds of it's (lucky) victims and re-wires them. This has apparently happened to Allan. He used to be so, just, happy. And goofy. And generally likeable. But then Nathaniel had to go get himself into a time paradox and get warped into a random time. In that time, Allan had been messed up by The Root and doesn't remember meeting Nathaniel. Maybe if the root is defeated he will be cured? I want the old Allan back! :( Maybe Nathaniel and Bee will be able to kill all of The Root? They have to rescue Doug, who has been kidnapped by Allan.

Well, Imma making a prison.

Yes, I am! A minecraft prison that is. It's going to be a prison server if it ever opens up to the public. :) Anyway, I just loaded some clothed into the washer, took the dog for a walk, and cleaned up the back yard, poop and everything. It's crazy what I'll do for computer time.

So I thought I switched my bin file to the one that had Xie's farming mod and More Creeps & Weirdos installed and so I started up minecraft BUT I actually switched the bin with the one in my mod folder on my desktop so I was still using the one that had You Are the Creeper installed and I loaded up my world that I used with my bin that had the two mods installed and I crashed minecraft and I think I corrupted my world or something because when I actually switched to the proper bin I appeared at my spawn and I couldn't find my house so I had to start another world! Pooh!

Last night my mom was listening to some music and I was really tired so what popped into my mind when I heard the music? Chubby babys from the Garfield comics that were pink and green and dancing in rows! And then at 8:51 this morning my mom came and told me to get up because my creative writing course was at 9:30! I managed to wake myself up and get breakfast in time for it.

Now I have to write first-person from the view of something non-human.

A new look

As you all might have noticed, I changed the background of my blog. Also, ever since I started putting the link to this blog in my forum account profiles I have been getting a lot more views. First I had 47 views, now I have around 240!

I have no idea why I'm blogging about this...

Some Minecraft stuff.

So, I've been installing some mods and now I think I'll post some pictures of my world(s).

The mods I have installed are Xie's Farming Mod and More Creeps & Weirdos. I also have NetherCraft installed, but in a separate bin file (because NetherCraft isn't compatible with Xie's farming mod).

 From left to right, avocado, apple, lemon, and orange trees. Also, some random sugarcane. (And a blorp ate some of the leaves on the trees. I quickly killed the big purple nuisance. Grr...)

 My cotton, genetically modified wheat, cactus, watermelon, and pumpkin farms. My (still unnamed) rocket giraffe is n00bing around.

 Four of my guinea pigs. I'm trying to level them all up.

The hardest thing to fight. Ever. When you attack him he throws you up in the air. He's called a preacher.

Now, just wait a second for me to switch bins and I'll show you my NetherCraft world.

 My house and lava reed farm. The house is made of glowood planks.

 My darkwheat farm. Like the name suggests, darkwheat only grows in the dark. However, purple gloshrooms give off just enough light to allow you to see without killing the darkwheat.

 My little patch of glowood trees. As their name also suggests, they glow.

 A fire slime! Apparently, they set you on fire. The small ones also drop slimeballs.

 A group of tribals. They are neutral, so they won't attack you unless you attack them. They will attack everything that normally attacks you (which includes zombie pigmen).

Gloshrooms, purple and green. The green ones glow a lot more than the purple.

I didn't cover all the features in these mods, so don't assume that's all there is!
Also, I was using the Painterly Pack as a texture pack in the first four screenshots, but since there are new ores in NetherCraft you have to use the default textures or it'll look odd.
